How can I get licensed and bonded to start a home cleaning service and the cost?
My friend and I want to start a home cleaning service and want to know how to do it legally so we can start our own cleaning business. We currently work for someone with their OWN service but want to start our own....how do we do that and where do we get it?
This is something my husband was just about to do. We called our car insurance agent (for our agent does it all), and they told us rates and amounts, and how it works. Our agent stated it is based on your credit score, and if you will have employees or not. Our agent also stated we probably wouldn't need to be bonded, because we wouldn't be carrying large sums of cash with us. Your state (we live in PA), doesn't require it. My advice is to call your insurance co, presuming you have one, and talk to them. Ours was great. Best of luck!

There's a place out of Kent, Ohio. Naturally Green Home Cleaning. They go everywhere in Portage County and even up to Hudson and down to Hartville. The lady who owns it is really nice and very fair. She makes her own products but sometimes uses Seventh Generation disinfectants. I use her in my home and so does my brother. She's always on time and works really hard. She's very flexible about hours too. I know for a fact that she's only looking for a couple more clients because she doesn't want to overbook- exactly what my last cleaning lady did. Every time I come home from work my house smells fresh and looks amazing. Naturally green uses essential oils and lemon juice and olive oil to polish woodwork and the scent just lingers. I would recommend her definitely. Five stars all-around. Oh, and the website is naturallygreenclean.webs.com.

i used to have a housekeeping business years ago called "overwith housekeeping" and my slogan was "you feel better when your housekeeping is Overwith." i did fancy brochures and had possibly 5 clients ever before i quit--didn't have the stamina for it but loved the idea. you're welcome to use my old name, ha ha! good luck. you've chosen a very good way to start a business with LOW overhead and instant profit. best wishes!!!!
